I graduated at Liverpool School of Art in 1985 with a BA Hons degree in Art and Design, specialising in printed textiles.

I worked for 15 years in the printed textile business, self-employed and working in design studios in London, selling to fashion houses around the world. Once I had young children, I chose to train as a primary school teacher and followed this career for the next 18 years. Whilst my creativity was called upon in many ways in schools, I decided to leave education in 2019 to return to my love of art and find time to produce images that I am proud of.

Much of my work focuses on local scenes. Living in East Sussex, I am inspired by beautiful views and villages on the South Downs. I draw and paint houses and their gardens, (interiors too) to commission. I enjoy the immediacy of pen and ink to describe the flow, texture and pattern of the landscape and its buildings. I am often inspired by natural forms and my garden. I also use pen and ink to make detailed botanical drawings, and colour wash them with permanent inks to fully describe their beauty. I am open to suggestion and have recently been commissioned to draw and paint dragonflies and a Massey Ferguson tractor!

I run workshops for art groups by arrangement and at
Wills Whims Studios, Brownings Farm, Blackboys TN22 5HG

I am a member of the Sussex Art Collective and exhibit with them in Gallery Uno, Seaford BN25 1PG.

You will also find my work in The Lighthouse Gallery, Eastbourne BN21 4NS .
